Aixtron Looks Cautiously at the Coming Year and Confirms Targets for 2024
Production and Sales Increased
Aixtron SE continues on its growth path.
With a preliminary sales volume of around EUR 984 million, the group exceeded the target range of EUR 950 million to EUR 970 million. This represents an increase of around 15 percent compared to the previous year.
Orders Lower
In contrast to the growth in sales, the incoming orders fell by 14 percent to EUR 841 million.
CEO Dr. Felix Grawert expects this trend to continue for the time being:
“Nevertheless, we expect order intake to remain at a high level throughout the course of the year, albeit somewhat below the record level of the past 15 months."
China Weak, USA and Europe Strong
Regionally, 39 percent of orders came from Asia in the past year, followed by Europe with 28 percent and the USA with 22 percent.
While business in China fluctuated significantly during the year, driven by both the COVID situation and geopolitics, there was particularly strong demand in the USA and Europe.
Cautiously Optimistic Outlook
CEO Grawert is cautiously optimistic about the current year, despite the tense situation:
"Our focus is and will remain on executing our strategy and delivering on our financial commitments.”
For 2023, the Management Board expects sales to be in the range of EUR 950 million to EUR 1,050 million, and an incoming order volume of EUR 800 million to EUR 1,000 million.
The targets for 2024 remain unchanged: sales in the range of EUR 1.2 billion to EUR 1.4 billion and an order volume of EUR 1.2 billion to EUR 1.5 billion.
