Siemens Acquires Altair Engineering, Expanding Its Digital Industries Portfolio

Siemens announced the acquisition of Altair Engineering, a global leader in simulation and data analytics. The acquisition brings together two companies with complementary strengths to create a comprehensive digital industries solution provider.

The combined company will leverage Altair's expertise in simulation, optimization, and data analytics with Siemens' leading position in automation, digitalization, and electrification to provide customers with a unique value proposition.

Altair's software portfolio includes solutions for product design, engineering analysis, and data intelligence. Its customer base spans various industries, including automotive, aerospace, and consumer products. By integrating Altair's solutions into its digital industries portfolio, Siemens will be able to offer end-to-end solutions that cover the entire product lifecycle, from concept to operation.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen Siemens' position as a leading provider of digital transformation solutions, enabling customers to accelerate innovation and improve productivity.

The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2023, subject to regulatory approvals.
