Amprion project for a 110-kV line in North Rhine-Westphalia: Federal Network Agency determines grid route
North Rhine-Westphalia: Federal Network Agency has determined the grid route for the expansion of the extra-high-voltage power grid in the Meerbusch municipal area.
The section of the new line will be 3.1 kilometers long; the existing line to be replaced will cover a distance of 2.9 kilometers.
After intensive examination of the grid situation, the Federal Network Agency has approved the route for a line in North Rhine-Westphalia.
"With the decision, we are creating the grid conditions for the secure and reliable supply of electricity in North Rhine-Westphalia," says Jochen Homann, Bundesnetzagentur President.
The network expansion project is required because the existing 110-kV line in Meerbusch is overloaded and no longer meets the requirements for a secure power supply.
With a length of 3.1 kilometers, the new line will replace the existing 2.9-kilometer line between the Osterath substation and the Lank substation and will run in an existing corridor parallel to the Autobahn 44.
The new line will be constructed as an overhead line.
The decision is immediately enforceable.
