Albula line closed until further notice
The closure of the Albula line between Thusis and St.Moritz due to a fault in the Landwasser Viaduct will last about two weeks. The Rhaetian Railway expects to be able to operate the section again from 1 August.
The Rhaetian Railway announced on Wednesday that a fault had been found in the Landwasser Viaduct near Filisur. A detailed investigation carried out by experts has shown that repairs are necessary, which will take about two weeks.
Replacement buses
During the closure of the line, replacement buses will operate between Thusis and St.Moritz. The buses will stop at all stations along the line. The Rhaetian Railway asks passengers to expect delays and to allow for more travel time.
The Landwasser Viaduct is one of the most famous railway viaducts in the world. It is 136 meters high and 284 meters long. The viaduct was built between 1901 and 1903 and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
