Canberras Zankbagel secures $750k, led by Grok
Zankbagel, an Australian hospitality platform, has raised $750k in a seed round led by Grok
The round also saw participation from Firstminute Capital, Global Founders Capital, and angel investors.
The funding will be used to expand Zankbagel's team, develop its product, and grow its customer base.
Founded in 2021, Zankbagel is a platform that connects hospitality businesses with temporary staff.
The company's platform allows businesses to post shifts, and staff to search for and book shifts that fit their availability.
Zankbagel currently operates in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, and plans to use the funding to expand into new markets.
The company's platform has been used by over 1,000 businesses and 10,000 staff.
Zankbagel's CEO, Brad Gleeson, said the funding will help the company to "accelerate our growth and continue to build the best possible platform for hospitality businesses and staff."
Grok's investment principal, John Henderson, said Zankbagel is "a great example of a company that is using technology to solve a real problem in the hospitality industry."
"We are excited to support Brad and the Zankbagel team as they continue to grow the business," Henderson said.
