Chelsea and Newcastle played out a spectaular match on Saturday, with the Blues twice coming from behind to earn a 2-2 draw at St James' Park.
The Magpies took an early lead through Callum Wilson, but Kai Havertz leveled for Chelsea just before half-time.
Miguel Almiron restored Newcastle's lead in the second half, but Mateo Kovacic scored a late equaliser for the visitors.
What Happened?
Chelsea started the match brightly and created a number of chances, but it was Newcastle who took the lead against the run of play when Wilson slotted home from close range after 33 minutes.
The Blues responded well to going behind and levelled the score just before half-time when Havertz headed home from a Reece James cross.
Newcastle regained the lead in the 58th minute when Almiron latched onto a through ball from Saint-Maximin and fired high into the net.
Chelsea continued to press for an equaliser and were rewarded in the 79th minute when Kovacic fired home from the edge of the area.
Both teams had chances to win the match in the closing stages, but neither side could find a winning goal.
Overall
Chelsea will be disappointed not to have taken all three points, but they will be pleased with the character they showed to come from behind twice.
Newcastle will be happy with a point against a strong Chelsea side, and they will now be looking to build on this result when they face Manchester United next weekend.
