Juventus Drops Points in Surprise Draw Against Parma

Parma, Italy - September 22, 2023

In a stunning upset, Juventus suffered a 1-1 draw against newly promoted Parma at the Ennio Tardini Stadium on Saturday. The result marks the first points dropped by the Bianconeri in Serie A this season.

Juventus dominated possession throughout the match but struggled to create clear-cut chances. Parma, on the other hand, defended resolutely and took advantage of a rare opportunity in the second half to take the lead.

Fabio Miretti opened the scoring for Parma in the 64th minute, pouncing on a loose ball in the Juventus penalty area. Juventus responded quickly, with Dusan Vlahovic equalizing just three minutes later.

However, the Bianconeri were unable to find a winning goal despite applying constant pressure in the closing stages. The draw sees Juventus fall to second place in the Serie A standings, one point behind Napoli.

Mistakes Cost Juventus

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri admitted that his team made too many mistakes at the back. "We made some mistakes in the first half and were punished for it," he said. "We need to be more careful and not give away such easy goals."

Allegri also pointed to the lack of creativity in the Juventus attack. "We didn't create enough chances today, especially in the first half," he said. "We need to be more patient and try to find our way through the defense."

Parma Delighted with the Result

Parma coach Fabio Pecchia was delighted with his team's performance. "We knew it would be a difficult match, but we played with great determination and belief," he said. "We took our chances and defended very well."

Pecchia praised his players for their work ethic and tactical discipline. "We were organized and compact, and we made it difficult for Juventus to create chances," he said. "This is a great result for us, and we will take a lot of confidence from it."
