Goals from Trossard, Elliott and Salah see Liverpool survive scare
Liverpool came from behind to beat Brighton 2-1 in a thrilling Premier League match at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.
The Seagulls took the lead in the fourth minute when Leandro Trossard converted a penalty after he was brought down by Alisson Becker.
But Liverpool equalised in the 30th minute when Harvey Elliott scored a stunning goal from outside the box.
The Reds then took the lead in the 53rd minute when Mohamed Salah scored from close range.
Brighton pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, but Liverpool held on to secure all three points.
The win moves Liverpool up to second in the Premier League table, one point behind leaders Arsenal.
Brighton remain in fourth place, five points behind Liverpool.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said he was delighted with his team's performance.
"We showed great character today," he said.
"We went behind early on, but we didn't let our heads drop.
"We kept fighting and we got our reward in the end."
Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi said he was disappointed with the result, but he praised his team's performance.
"We played very well today," he said.
"We created a lot of chances, but we couldn't take them.
"We will learn from this and we will come back stronger."
