Lünen, Germany - Two trains collided at a level crossing in Lünen, Germany, on Wednesday morning, injuring several people, some of them seriously.

The accident occurred at around 7:45 a.m. at the Bahnweg/Kurt-Schumacher-Straße level crossing. According to initial reports, a regional train and a freight train collided.

The impact of the collision was so strong that both trains were derailed. Several carriages of the regional train were overturned.

Emergency services are currently on the scene and are working to free the injured passengers. The extent of the injuries is not yet known.
